夏天的桥梁 2024 will be In-Person

(July 15th - August 1st)

夏天的桥梁 is a tuition-free, three-week program that welcomes all in-coming, first-year students entering “大学. We want to “bridge” students into a community of learners by taking academic courses, learning about resources, gaining knowledge and skills to succeed 在早期 in a fun, welcoming summer! This program is a major step to completing a degree, certificate and/or transfer within three years. We also want to encourage our students to enter and learn more about STEM majors and careers as this program is funded by the HSI 阻止格兰特.

资格

Must apply for both Summer and Fall 2024 Term & complete the 3 core services:
- Online orientation
- English and Math self-guided placement
- Student Education Plan (SEP)
Must be a graduating senior, entering Chabot in the Fall 2024.
Complete FAFSA/CA Dream application for 2024-2025
All students are welcome, but preference given to those who are first in their families to attend college (first-generation), Latinx/e, African American, underrepresented communities, or low-income.

STEPS to participate in 夏天的桥梁

步骤1: Complete the application by 2024年6月15日: tinyurl.com/ChabotSB24

步骤2: Participate in a chat/interview with one of our staff.

步骤3: Once accepted to 夏天的桥梁, register for assigned Math Jam course.

步骤4: Attend Chabot’s 高飞 Day on April 20th, 2024, to receive support with completing the steps of success to make you eligible for priority registration. This gives you “dibs” on selecting classes before they fill up.

步骤5: Attend the 夏天的桥梁 Orientation.

Why 夏天的桥梁?

夏天的桥梁 students get an early glimpse of how college works! 学生 develop time management skills, study strategies and will have access to academic counseling and financial aid advising to make sure students know which classes to take and make sure they can pay for college. 学生 will also get a chance to connect with other students, staff, programs, and resources. At the end of the program, students will 收到200美元.00 gift card for their participation!

Student Outcomes:

At the end of the program, student will:

Complete a comprehensive student educational plan
Understand how financial aid works
Develop and practice key study skills, such as note-taking, time management, and basic 写作技巧
Review and develop foundational math skills and concepts?
Learn about support services, learning communities, tutoring, and library orientation
Explore and practice using our online platforms, such as checking email, CLASS-Web, 和帆布
Develop a network of support from other students, staff, counselors, and professors

Course Schedule & 午餐

Tentative Courses, subject to change, depending on instructors’ availability. 学生 need to participate in the Workshop Series and one math class to meet the student 结果.
