DegreeWorks is an online degree/certificate audit and student education planning system. DegreeWorks helps you track your progress toward graduation, map out which 类 to take, and explore all degrees and certificates offered by Chabot. It is designed to aid and facilitate academic advising, but is not intended to replace face-to-face counseling sessions.

Worksheets & 计划

The Worksheets 页面 contains your degree/certificate audit. The audit helps students and counselors monitor progress toward degree/certificate completion. The audit matches your 类 against the requirements for your declared Chabot degree/certificate. The audit shows whether a particular requirement has been met, is in progress, or is “still needed.” Watch the Use Your Worksheet to Track Your Degree or Certificate Progress video on the Student How-Tos 页面 to learn more.
The audit in your DegreeWorks account is based on the information available in the college's student information system. Most of the time, you will only have one audit in your DegreeWorks account and that audit will be for your declared major/catalog. At some point during your studies, however, you may decide to 提交一个 request to the Admissions and 记录 Office for a degree/certificate that doesn't match your current declared major. (这 usually occurs because a student realizes that although they may only declare one major, they may earn multiple degrees and certificates.) In this case, an additional audit will be created in your DegreeWorks account. 一次 the requested degree/certificate has been awarded or denied, then this additional audit will no longer appear in your DegreeWorks account. Watch the Check Whether You Have Additional Degree and Dertificate Audits video on the Student How-Tos 页面 to learn more.
Students may request for AP test credit and transfer coursework to appear on their audit by submitting the Incoming Transcript / AP Test Evaluation form to the Admissions & 记录 Office.
No. Students who have declared a catalog year that is prior to 2008-2009 will not have a pre-existing audit in DegreeWorks. Students are advised to see a counselor for more information.
No. Chabot 类 taken prior to Summer 1994 are contained in your microfilm record and do not appear in DegreeWorks. Students who have a Chabot microfilm record should meet with a counselor to determine how to best utilize the audit.
You should review your audit several times a semester. You should review your audit:
  • Before you meet with a counselor to discuss registration for an upcoming semester.
  • After your 成绩 for each semester are posted.
  • Any time you make a change to your schedule, or have questions about what you need to complete your degree/certificate. 注意: Information in DegreeWorks is refreshed each night. So, schedule changes made today will be seen in DegreeWorks tomorrow.
  • Whenever you are considering changing your major. You will want to check your current audit to see where you stand, and then use the What-If feature to check out other 专业.
如果你 are thinking about changing your major, you can use the What-If feature to generate an audit for the new major you are considering. 一次 processed, the What-If audit will show you what the requirements are for the major you are considering and how the 类 you have already taken will apply to that major. 如果你 decide to change your major, you must 提交一个 Major Declaration form to the Admissions and 记录 Office (Bldg. 700). Watch the Run a What-If Audit to See How Close You Are to Earning Another Degree or Certificate video on the Student How-Tos 页面 for step-by-step instructions on running a What-If audit.
如果你 hover over any class number with your mouse, the titles and units for the class will display. 如果你 click on any class, a pop-up window will open and additional details about the class including a description, required prerequisites, etc. 注意: Current and future class section offerings listed in the pop-up window are subject to change without notice.
If a class has a prerequisite, you will see a clipboard icon next to the class number. To see what the prerequisite is for the class, click on it and a class description including the prerequisite will appear in a pop up box.
这 is a wild card in DegreeWorks. For example, if the @ sign appears after the subject prefix PEAC it means that you can take any Physical Education Activity class.
DegreeWorks looks at your program holistically, and places each class using a “best fit” scenario. We've also programmed priorities that govern how certain 类 will be used in your major. 这 process will not always be perfect, particularly when multiple possibilities exist. However, as you complete your requirements, it generally works out. 如果你 are concerned about a class that does not appear in the area in which you wanted to use it, you may contact a counselor for assistance.
In most cases, yes. DegreeWorks is programmed to recognize that some 类 can fulfill more than one requirement. For example, SOCI 1 is often used to fulfill both your American Cultures requirement and your Area D 一般 Education requirement. 一定 to look through your audit to make sure that this duplicate placement is appropriate. 如果你 have any concerns about your audit, check the requirements in the Chabot College 目录 before contacting a counselor.
一般ly, this is not a problem and will work itself out as you complete more required 类. However, if you are concerned, contact a counselor.

Each term, DegreeWorks will reset the In-Progress term to the upcoming term. 这 will happen the day after completion of grade processing. 注意: 如果你 still see in-progress 成绩 for the immediate past term and you know that grade processing has already occured for that term, try doing the following:

  1. Clear your web browser data (e.g., history, cookies, cache, etc.).
  2. Close all web browser windows.
  3. Open a new web browser window, then try accessing DegreeWorks again.
  4. If that fails, try accessing DegreeWorks using an incognito/private web browser window.
The degree progress bar will not show 100% completion until you finish all of your in-progress 类 and earn acceptable 成绩 in them.
这 error message indicates that the catalog year currently associated with your student record needs to be updated to a more current catalog year. Submit a Major Declaration form to the Admissions and 记录 Office (Bldg. 700) to update your catalog year and major, if desired. In the meantime, you may wish to use the What-If feature to review requirements for various degrees and certificates. Watch the Run a What-If Audit to See How Close You Are to Earning Another Degree or Certificate video on the Student How-Tos 页面 for step-by-step instructions on running a What-If audit.
这 error message indicates that your major and catalog year are incompatible and need to be updated in the student information system. Having an incompatible major and catalog year simply means that your declared major isn't offered in the catalog year currently associated with your student record. Submit a Major Declaration form to the Admissions and 记录 Office (Bldg. 700) to update your major and/or catalog year.
Below are the most common problems and courses of action:
  • My major is wrong on my audit. 如果你 have not officially changed your major, then 提交一个 Major Declaration form to the Admissions and 记录 Office (Bldg. 700).
  • The requirements for my major are wrong. Requirements for most 专业 change over time and are tied to a particular catalog year. 如果你 think your audit is incorrect, check the catalog year that appears on your audit. 如果你 believe the catalog year is incorrect, 提交一个 Major Declaration form to the Admissions and 记录 Office (Bldg. 700).
  • Classs are not applying in the “right” place. DegreeWorks uses a “best fit” approach for meeting requirements. 这 means 类 may be applied differently as you take more 类. 这 is normal and should be in your best interest. However, if you are concerned, please contact a counselor.
  • My transfer 类 don't appear on my audit. You may request for AP test credit and transfer coursework to appear on your audit by submitting the Incoming Transcript / AP Test Evaluation form to the Admissions & 记录 Office (Bldg. 700).
  • I took 类 at Chabot prior to Summer 1994. These 类 don't appear on my audit. Students who have a Chabot microfilm record (i.e., took 类 at Chabot prior to Summer 1994) should meet with a counselor to determine how to best utilize the audit.
如果你 still have questions, please contact a counselor.
如果你 and your counselor created a plan in DegreeWorks, you may view it in the 计划 页面. Watch the View Your Plan video on the Student How-Tos 页面 to learn more.
