How is 速度 different from taking regular Evening or Online classes at Chabot?
速度 is a comprehensive, multi-semester 学习 Community designed for working adults, which offers the chance for 学生s to create a supportive network and take classes together - an approach which enhances 学生 success. 速度还提供教师 who teach toward adult 学生s, and 速度 streamlines the path toward certain academic 职业目标. 速度 classes are restricted for only 速度 学生s through the beginning of the registration process, so prompt registration assures 速度 学生s a place 在速度课堂上. (Class spaces still available when the 速度 classes become unrestricted can be enrolled in first come, first served by any Chabot 学生.速度学生 tend to be older and serious about their education.

How can I take classes in the 速度 Program?

What does it cost to take 速度 Classes?

Grant and loan applications (FAFSA + CA Promise Grant/formerly BOG) are available via 金融援助.

Do I need to take an ORIENTATION?
All 学生s new to “大学 are REQUIRED to complete a “大学 网络方向 ,再加上  评估 and meet with a counselor to create a Student Education Plan, for Priority 登记. 速度 Orientations are different and separate from the Chabot 网络方向, and are a part of the 速度 Admission process.

How do I get my transcripts from other colleges sent to “大学?
To do this, contact all colleges you have previously attended and have them send official transcripts directly to “大学. If you have the transcripts sent to you personally, be sure that you do NOT open them, as official transcripts MUST be in a sealed envelope 直接从机构获得.

Most full-time working adults can take 1-3 classes per semester. 注意一个3单元 class requires 3 hours of class time plus about 6 hours of study time per week (though this differs from class to class). Taking 12 or more units is considered being a full-time 学生. Take a class load that is realistic for you and your life! If you are new to college, note classes which are recommended for 学生s new to college, as indicated on 速度 Class List. 

What English or Math class should I take?
See Chabot's 评估 information here: 评估.  If you have taken English/Math at another college, you can see a 辅导员 to see if you can obtain a 辅导员 Override by bringing a copy of your transcript to a 辅导员. Other college’s assessment results are not accepted at Chabot.

You must be admitted to the 速度 Program in order to be a 速度 Student, see '如何申请'.
Once admitted, choose your classes from the current 速度 Class List available at the 网站速度, then Register for them via CLASS-web at (ID# is your SS# or Chabot W#, and PIN is your birthdate—if you can’t log in, you must see A&(亲身重置密码) 或亲自到A&R在大厦. 700.

How can I meet with a 速度 辅导员?
速度 咨询 appointments are available for 速度 学生s taking 速度 classes. Students requesting any type of counseling appointment that includes the review of transcripts from other colleges, must have official transcripts on file at the time 他们安排了约会. 要预约，请发邮件 pdiaz@china-ads.net - include your name and Chabot W#, and request for an appointment.

How can I get into a class once the semester starts?
If the course is open, you may attempt to add via the CLAS-Web. 如果球场关闭 or requires add authorization, go to class, obtain an Add Authorization Number from the Instructor, and then add through CLASS-Web. 

How can I keep updated re: deadlines, scholarships, etc?

TRANSCRIPTS: What if I attended other colleges?
During your first semester, contact all colleges you previously attended besides Chabot or Las Positas, and the high school you last attended, and have your official transcripts (in a sealed envelope) sent directly to Chabot.

Where can I get my STUDENT PHOTO ID CARDS?
Pick up your Student ID card (required for use in the library, bookstore and computer 实验室) 在线服务, Room 709, by showing your class schedule receipt and one other form of ID. 

我应该什么时候买书?
You can buy books either the week before classes start or the first week of classes. Books are available at the Chabot 书店 in the 速度 section, arranged according to course number and section number, and can easily cost $200+.
