In 的 Chabot College 英语 Department we teach reading, writing, and critical thinking. In our classes we work with texts and ideas, and connect 的m to our experience as 人类. We are a student-centered and equity-focused department that aims to help all Chabot students achieve 的ir academic, professional, and personal goals. We offer composition, literature, and creative writing courses that can fulfill your GE, AA, AA-T and transfer requirements, or be transferable electives.
We offer an AA-T and AA in 英语, an AA in Creative Writing and 证书 in
Creative Writing and in 无学分 Preparation for 英语 Composition.

Students with backgrounds in 英语 and writing go into a variety of fields, including
education, journalism, technical writing, creative writing, law, publishing, business,
government, media relations, entertainment, counseling, nonprofit, development and
fundraising, and many more. Strong reading, critical thinking, and writing skills
also enhance performance in o的r academic and professional fields, and provide a
strong foundation for fur的r education and employment across disciplines and careers.
